Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants looking to expand their global reach and provide a seamless shopping experience for international customers, Currency Converter Bear is the clear choice. Its automatic currency conversion, Shopify Markets integration, and high rating indicate a reliable and user-friendly solution. The app focuses on improving customer experience and increasing sales. On the other hand, YT: Country Blocker IP Blocker might be suitable for merchants experiencing significant security threats or unwanted bot traffic and needing strict control over who can access their store. However, the low rating and limited reviews suggest caution and careful consideration before implementation.
Given the difference in user ratings and focus, Currency Converter Bear appears to be the superior option for most merchants using geolocation features. Unless a store has a specific and pressing need for country/IP-based blocking, the benefits of seamless currency conversion for international customers are likely to outweigh the potential security benefits of the lower-rated blocker app.
