Currency Converter Plus vs Easy Translationfor Shopify (2026)
Currency Converter Plus and Easy Translation address different aspects of internationalizing a Shopify store, though both appear in the 'Currency and translation' category. Currency Converter Plus focuses solely on presenting prices in the customer's local currency, aiming for a seamless, automatic experience. It boasts a high rating and substantial review count, suggesting a stable and well-received solution for currency conversion. It is positioned as a 'professional' and 'highly-configurable' tool for merchants looking to offer localized pricing. Easy Translation, on the other hand, tackles the broader challenge of content translation, allowing merchants to translate product descriptions, metafields, and themes into multiple languages. While its rating and review count are significantly lower, its integration with DeepL indicates a focus on quality translations and expanding customer reach through multilingual content. Currency Converter Plus prioritizes a hands-off approach, requiring minimal configuration and offering features like automatic IP-based currency detection and frequent exchange rate updates. Easy Translation leans towards a more controlled approach, enabling merchants to browse, filter, and manually translate content, while also offering automatic translation options. The choice between the two depends heavily on the merchant's specific needs. A merchant primarily concerned with displaying prices in local currencies will likely find Currency Converter Plus more suitable. Conversely, a merchant aiming to expand into multilingual markets and translate all store content will find Easy Translation more valuable.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a simple and effective solution for automatically displaying prices in local currencies, Currency Converter Plus is the clear winner. Its high rating, substantial review count, and focus on ease of use make it a reliable choice. It is perfect for stores already selling internationally but needing better currency localization. However, if the goal is comprehensive store translation to cater to multilingual customers, Easy Translation, despite its lower rating and fewer reviews, offers a more complete solution. Its DeepL integration and support for manual translation provide the flexibility needed to accurately translate product descriptions, policies, and other store content.
Consider Currency Converter Plus for quick currency localization, especially if you are using Shopify Markets. Choose Easy Translation when you need more control over the quality of content in another language, and are dedicated to translation of product descriptions, blog posts, and policies in addition to currencies.
