Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with displaying prices accurately in local currencies and requiring a set-and-forget solution, Currency Converter Plus is the clear choice. Its high rating, large number of reviews, and specific focus on currency conversion make it a reliable option. However, if a merchant needs to translate a significant amount of website content into multiple languages and requires a robust translation management system with human translation options, EasyTranslate, despite its lower review count, provides the necessary tools and services. Choosing between the apps depends heavily on the complexity and scope of the merchant's internationalization strategy. A small store focusing only on a few markets with primarily English-speaking customers would be fine with Currency Converter Plus, while a large enterprise selling globally would benefit greatly from the automation workflows offered by EasyTranslate.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Currency Converter Plus claims to require no configuration, suggesting a simpler setup process. EasyTranslate, with its translation workflows, likely requires more initial configuration to define language pairs and translation preferences.
Which app is better for a merchant selling in only a few international markets?
Currency Converter Plus is likely sufficient, as it automatically detects the customer's country and converts prices. EasyTranslate's translation services might be overkill if language needs are minimal.
Which app provides better control over the translation process?
EasyTranslate offers more control, allowing users to select between machine and human translation, manage translation memory, and customize workflows. Currency Converter Plus focuses solely on automated currency conversion.
Does Currency Converter Plus translate product descriptions?
No, Currency Converter Plus only converts prices based on the customer's location. It does not provide any content translation services.
Which app is more expensive?
The provided data doesn't include pricing information. Further research into the pricing models of both apps is needed to determine which is more expensive. EasyTranslate's human translation options likely increase costs.
