Currency Converter Plus vs Euro Dual Pricingfor Shopify (2026)
Currency Converter Plus and Euro Dual Pricing, while both fitting into the 'Currency and translation' category on the Shopify app store, cater to vastly different needs and target audiences. Currency Converter Plus aims to be a comprehensive, global solution, positioning itself as a 'professional' tool with broad currency support and extensive configuration options. It focuses on automatically detecting a customer's location and displaying prices in their local currency, appealing to merchants selling internationally and needing to support multiple currencies. Euro Dual Pricing, on the other hand, is highly specialized. It directly addresses the specific regulatory requirement for Bulgarian merchants to display prices in both BGN and EUR following Bulgaria's adoption of the euro. It is designed for simplicity and compliance, focusing on accurate conversion and legally compliant formatting. It offers a very targeted solution for a particular geographic area and legislative change. The app prioritizes ease of use and out-of-the-box compatibility with popular Shopify themes, making it a quick and practical solution for Bulgarian merchants.

Our Verdict
The choice between these two apps is straightforward and depends entirely on the merchant's situation. Euro Dual Pricing is the clear and only choice for Bulgarian merchants needing to comply with the requirement to display prices in both BGN and EUR. Its targeted functionality and guaranteed compliance make it essential for this specific use case.
Currency Converter Plus is the superior option for all other merchants selling internationally and looking to provide a localized shopping experience by automatically displaying prices in their customer's local currency. Its broad currency support and configuration options offer greater flexibility, although the larger number of settings might require more initial setup. For those not facing specific regulatory requirements, Currency Converter Plus provides a robust global solution.
