Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on enhancing the individual customer's account experience with features like order tracking, loyalty programs, and personalized content, Custlo is the superior choice. It provides a suite of tools to improve customer retention and gather valuable customer insights. However, if the primary goal is to integrate the Shopify store with a pre-existing Discord community, allowing for streamlined logins, purchase-based Discord role assignments, and direct communication within Discord, then Discord Connect is the more appropriate option. Its focus on community building and Discord management makes it ideal for stores seeking to leverage Discord for marketing and customer engagement.
Common Questions
Can both apps be used together?
Technically possible if you wanted both enhanced account pages and Discord integration. However, their functionalities are largely independent, and there might be overlap if features like customer accounts also become available in Discord via discord connect.
Which app is easier to set up?
Without specific setup details, Discord Connect is likely easier for merchants familiar with Discord developer apps, given its core functionality centers on linking an existing Discord account. Custlo, with its array of customization options for customer account pages, might require more time and effort to configure according to specific brand needs.
Does Custlo offer features similar to Discord Connect's community integration?
Custlo's primary focus is on enhancing the individual customer account page, not building an external community like Discord. While it allows for customer testimonials, these are displayed within the account page and do not extend to external platforms.
Does Discord Connect offer options for customizing the customer account page on Shopify?
No, Discord Connect is primarily focused on user authentication and community integration via Discord. It doesn't offer tools to directly customize the appearance or functionality of the customer account page within Shopify.
Which app is more suitable for a store with no existing Discord community?
Custlo is the more suitable choice for a store without a Discord community. Discord Connect is only effective if you have an existing Discord server and wish to integrate Shopify with it. Without a Discord community, Discord Connect offers little value.
