Custom & Draft Orders For POS vs Proveway PayPal Tracking Syncfor Shopify (2026)
Custom & Draft Orders For POS and Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync, while both residing in the 'Orders' category on Shopify, cater to vastly different needs. Custom & Draft Orders For POS aims to solve a specific pain point for merchants using Shopify POS: efficiently managing draft and custom orders directly within the POS interface. It streamlines the process of creating, editing, and applying draft orders to POS carts, eliminating the need to switch to the admin panel. Its strength lies in its direct integration with the POS system, enhancing in-store sales workflows. Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync, on the other hand, focuses on improving the backend operations related to PayPal transactions. It automates the syncing of tracking information from Shopify to PayPal, designed to reduce payment holds, prevent disputes, and accelerate fund availability. Proveway targets merchants who heavily rely on PayPal and need to ensure smooth and reliable transaction processing by providing the necessary shipment data to PayPal. Its value proposition lies in automating processes that directly impact cash flow and seller protection. These two apps have very limited overlap in functionality, with Custom & Draft Orders For POS optimizing in-person sales and Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync optimizing PayPal transactions and improving seller outcomes. The choice between the two comes down entirely to which pain point is more prominent for a given merchant.

The choice between Custom & Draft Orders For POS and Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync is highly dependent on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant primarily operates a brick-and-mortar store and frequently uses Shopify POS, Custom & Draft Orders For POS would likely be the more valuable investment, directly addressing the inefficiencies of managing custom orders within the POS environment.
However, if a merchant primarily sells online and relies heavily on PayPal for payment processing, Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync is likely the better choice. The app's focus on automating tracking and syncing with PayPal can significantly improve cash flow and reduce the risk of payment disputes, ultimately benefiting the business's bottom line. For businesses using both POS systems and PayPal frequently, both apps may be valuable additions to their Shopify store.
