CustomerGenius vs Subunofor Shopify (2026)
CustomerGenius and Subuno both aim to reduce financial losses for Shopify merchants by addressing different types of fraud. CustomerGenius focuses specifically on discount code abuse, targeting scenarios where multiple email accounts use the same shipping address to exploit promotional offers. It provides automated cancellation and refund options, and integrates directly with Shipstation and Recharge. Subuno, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive fraud prevention platform aimed at preventing credit card fraud and chargebacks through customizable, rules-based order screening. Subuno offers a broader range of fraud detection capabilities, including 15+ manual review tools and integrated third-party data analytics. It allows merchants to define complex rules based on risk scores, velocity, and address mismatches to automatically flag or hold suspicious orders. CustomerGenius appears to be simpler to set up for merchants with limited technical expertise that have a huge problem with coupon abuse, while Subuno offers more customization for sophisticated fraud prevention strategies that go beyond that use case. Both apps have a perfect rating, but Subuno has more reviews, indicating a potentially larger user base or more established presence in the Shopify app store.
