CustomPix Product Catalog vs Optim Feed ‑ Facebook Catalogfor Shopify (2026)
CustomPix Product Catalog and Optim Feed ‑ Facebook Catalog both aim to help Shopify merchants optimize their product listings for advertising platforms. However, they approach this goal from different angles. CustomPix focuses on image optimization for Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Dynamic Product Ads, offering features like dynamic templates, image cropping, and selection of specific product images. It positions itself as a more user-friendly and affordable alternative to more complex solutions. Optim Feed, conversely, prioritizes quick and easy feed generation for Facebook Catalogs (with future TikTok support). It focuses on creating the data feed itself, with customizations like product title modification and collection filtering, but requires manual connection to Facebook, offering more control over existing feeds. This difference in focus suggests CustomPix targets merchants who want enhanced visual appeal and control over their DPA creatives, while Optim Feed is geared toward merchants needing a fast and customizable feed generation solution, particularly those with large product catalogs or existing feed setups.

Our Verdict
For merchants highly concerned with the visual appearance of their Dynamic Product Ads on Facebook and Instagram, and who want greater control over the images used in those ads, CustomPix Product Catalog is the better option. Its focus on image customization and seamless integration with the Meta Sales Channel makes it a strong choice for those prioritizing visual appeal and ad performance. On the other hand, Optim Feed ‑ Facebook Catalog is a better fit for merchants who already have a good handle on their visual content and are more focused on quickly and efficiently generating a product feed, especially if they have a large product catalog or specific requirements for product data and want to avoid automatic overwriting of existing feeds.
Common Questions
Which app is better for merchants without existing product feeds?
Optim Feed is the better starting point for creating a feed from scratch since this is its core function. CustomPix is built to augment existing feeds, assuming you already have a base feed set up.
Does either app directly manage ad campaigns?
Neither app directly manages ad campaigns. Both apps focus on preparing the product data or images needed for those campaigns in Facebook Ads Manager.
Which app is easier to set up for a complete beginner?
Optim Feed might be slightly easier to set up initially, given its focus on quick feed creation. However, the visual customization in CustomPix is arguably more straightforward, once the core feed is there.
Is one app more scalable for large product catalogs?
Optim Feed explicitly states support for stores with around 100,000 variants, implying it's built for larger catalogs. CustomPix doesn't state catalog size capacity.
If I'm already using another feed app, should I switch to either of these?
It depends on your specific needs. If you need better visual control over your Meta ads, CustomPix could be beneficial. If your current feed is slow or lacks customization, Optim Feed is worth considering. Assess your pain points before switching.
