Our Verdict
Choosing between Customs Buddy and Sort'd depends entirely on the specific needs of your Shopify store. If your primary concern is simplifying international shipping, ensuring smooth customs clearance, and reducing manual invoice creation, Customs Buddy is the clear choice. Its automated features and focus on compliance make it ideal for merchants regularly dealing with international orders.
However, if you're primarily focused on optimizing your online store's merchandising, improving product discoverability, and leveraging analytics to boost sales, Sort'd is the better option. Its drag-and-drop interface, automated collection sorting, and detailed performance metrics offer a comprehensive solution for enhancing the online shopping experience and driving revenue. While Sort'd enjoys a higher rating and more reviews, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a better solution, just that more stores have found value in its merchandising capabilities.
Common Questions
Does Customs Buddy help with duties and taxes calculation?
The description focuses on commercial invoice generation and customs clearance. It doesn't explicitly mention duties and taxes calculation, so this likely requires additional tools or manual calculations.
Can Sort'd automatically promote new products to the top of a collection?
While Sort'd offers automated collection sorting, it's not explicitly stated whether it can automatically prioritize new products. This functionality may be available as a sorting rule within the automations feature, but it would require further investigation.

The app description does not specify compatibility with particular shipping carriers. However, since it generates standard commercial invoices, it should work with most carriers that require this documentation for international shipments.
How easy is it to set up Sort'd for a large product catalog?
Sort'd's drag-and-drop interface and automated sorting features aim to simplify merchandising, potentially making it easier to manage large product catalogs compared to manual sorting.
