In 2026, Shopify merchants choosing between D: Local Delivery Date Picker and EasyRoutes Local Delivery face a choice between enhancing the customer's pre-purchase experience and optimizing backend delivery operations. Our Verdict
For merchants focused on giving customers granular control over their delivery options, such as bakeries or florists needing to manage specific time slots, D: Local Delivery Date Picker is the superior choice. Its strength lies in its ability to integrate seamlessly with the storefront and provide customers with a customizable and user-friendly scheduling experience.
However, for merchants managing their own delivery fleet, where efficient route planning, driver tracking, and customer communication are paramount, EasyRoutes Local Delivery is the better solution. Its focus on backend optimization and real-time visibility makes it ideal for businesses seeking to minimize delivery costs and improve the overall efficiency of their delivery operations.
Common Questions
Which app is better for businesses needing to schedule same-day deliveries?
D: Local Delivery Date Picker provides flexible cutoff times for same-day delivery, allowing customers to select available time slots. EasyRoutes doesn't explicitly mention cutoff times, so DingDoong is likely better suited for this specific need.
Does either app handle shipping, or are they strictly for local delivery?
Both apps seem to primarily target local delivery. D: Local Delivery Date Picker mentions setting lead times for 'shipping,' but the focus remains on local deliveries. EasyRoutes primarily focuses on route optimization for local drivers, making them both limited in broader shipping management.
Which app is easier to use for a non-technical merchant?
It is difficult to assess ease of use based solely on the provided descriptions and ratings. However, the focused feature set of D: Local Delivery Date Picker, centered around a date/time picker and location management, might be easier to grasp initially compared to the more complex route optimization and driver management features of EasyRoutes. User reviews would offer more definitive guidance.
Which app is more scalable for a growing business?
EasyRoutes Local Delivery, with its route optimization and driver management features, is arguably more scalable for a business expanding its local delivery operations. D: Local Delivery Date Picker scales primarily by increasing the number of delivery slots or location options, which may become cumbersome to manage without robust automation or API integrations. It depends on how the business scales; growing coverage area benefits from EasyRoutes, whereas simply growing order volume might be handled similarly by either app.
What are the long term costs associated with each app? The descriptions don't include pricing.
The app descriptions don't specify pricing. However, in 2026, both apps likely have tiered pricing structures based on factors such as order volume, number of delivery locations, or feature access (e.g., SMS notifications, driver accounts). Reviewing pricing pages on the Shopify App Store is essential to determine the long-term cost implications of each option.
