Delhivery ‑ Logistics Platform vs Essential Estimated Deliveryfor Shopify (2026)
Delhivery - Logistics Platform and Essential Estimated Delivery address very different aspects of delivery. Delhivery is a full-fledged logistics solution, positioning itself as an end-to-end logistics provider particularly strong in India, claiming coverage of remote areas with extensive pin code support and features aimed at automating the shipping workflow. Their value proposition centers around reliable and fast delivery, COD remittance, and dedicated support. Essential Estimated Delivery, on the other hand, focuses solely on improving the customer experience by providing clear delivery estimates and reducing shipping inquiries. They target merchants seeking to reduce support tickets and increase conversion rates by proactively managing customer expectations regarding delivery times. The key differentiator is scope. Delhivery aims to handle the entire shipping process, while Essential Estimated Delivery focuses on providing information *about* the shipping process. Delhivery appeals to merchants who need a comprehensive logistics partner, especially those operating in or delivering to India. Essential Estimated Delivery is relevant to any Shopify store, regardless of location or shipping provider, looking to optimize the post-purchase customer experience and reduce customer service workload related to shipping inquiries. The significantly different rating and number of reviews suggest that Delhivery may have some challenges in user satisfaction or that its core function is simply harder to execute flawlessly, while Essential Estimated Delivery is perceived as highly effective within its narrower scope.

Our Verdict
Essential Estimated Delivery is generally the safer and more accessible choice for most Shopify merchants. It addresses a common pain point – managing customer expectations around delivery – with a focused solution and enjoys strong user reviews. Delhivery is specifically for merchants who require an end-to-end logistics platform, especially those shipping to or within India and struggling with logistics complexities there. The lower rating of Delhivery suggests that while its functionality is broader, its execution might be less consistent or more challenging for users.
If a merchant simply needs to provide better delivery estimates and reduce customer service burden related to shipping, Essential Estimated Delivery is the clear winner. If a merchant needs a comprehensive logistics solution, particularly for the Indian market, Delhivery is a contender, but the low rating suggests carefully evaluating recent reviews and competitor alternatives before committing.
Common Questions
Which app handles actual shipping?
Delhivery - Logistics Platform handles the actual shipping and delivery of products. Essential Estimated Delivery helps manage customer expectations by providing estimates of delivery dates, but doesn't actually ship anything.
Can Essential Estimated Delivery be used with Delhivery?
Yes, Essential Estimated Delivery can be used alongside Delhivery or any other shipping provider. It enhances the customer experience by providing clear delivery estimates, regardless of who is handling the logistics.
Is Delhivery suitable for merchants outside of India?
While Delhivery offers international shipping, its core strength and focus appear to be within the Indian market, given its emphasis on serving remote pin codes in India. Merchants outside of India should explore alternative options first.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Given the focused nature of its functionality, Essential Estimated Delivery is likely easier to set up and use. Delhivery, with its comprehensive logistics features, may require a more involved setup and integration process.
Which app directly impacts sales conversion rates?
Essential Estimated Delivery directly aims to improve sales conversion rates by reducing customer hesitation related to delivery uncertainty. While efficient logistics (like that offered by Delhivery) can indirectly improve conversions, Essential Estimated Delivery's primary goal is to improve customer confidence during the purchase process.
