DeskMoz ‑24x7 Live Chat Agents vs Live Chat & AI ChatGPT : Orkafor Shopify (2026)
DeskMoz and Orka both offer live chat solutions for Shopify merchants, but cater to very different needs. DeskMoz positions itself as a fully managed, omnichannel customer support solution with a dedicated team of in-house agents handling support and even store backend tasks. This is a high-touch, comprehensive approach, suitable for businesses seeking complete outsourcing of their live chat operations. Orka, on the other hand, focuses on providing merchants with the tools for real-time engagement via an easily integrated and user-friendly live chat interface, seemingly designed for merchants who want to directly interact with their customers themselves or with their existing team. The primary differentiator lies in the level of management and automation. DeskMoz offers a complete 'done-for-you' service, which includes 24/7 coverage, handling of order modifications, and training of their agents. Orka emphasizes ease of use and direct control for the merchant. While Orka mentions AI and ChatGPT in its name, the description focuses on direct human interaction, implying that the AI capabilities are likely aimed at assisting the merchant rather than replacing them. This difference will significantly impact the cost, complexity, and the merchant's level of involvement in customer interactions.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking a hands-off, fully managed live chat solution that includes 24/7 coverage, order management, and omnichannel support, DeskMoz is the clear choice. This is best suited for businesses with higher support volumes and a desire to completely outsource their customer service. Conversely, if a merchant wants to maintain direct control over customer interactions, prefers a simple and easy-to-use interface, and wants to leverage AI assistance for their own team, Orka would be a better fit. It is ideal for smaller to medium-sized businesses and those who value direct customer engagement.
