Our Verdict
Digital Downloads - MEGA is the safer bet for most Shopify merchants in 2026, given its excellent rating and positive reviews. Its unlimited download capabilities and advanced features provide greater flexibility and security. It's especially well-suited for businesses selling software, music, or other digital assets that require strong download management and license control.
Digital Downloads - Digitalify might be a viable option for merchants prioritizing extreme simplicity and brand customization, but the lack of reviews introduces significant risk. It could be considered by new stores with very basic digital product offerings and a strong emphasis on visual branding, but only after thorough testing and validation. Until it gains user feedback, it's difficult to recommend it over the established Digital Downloads - MEGA.
