Our Verdict
The choice between Filemonk and GST Pro is straightforward: if you sell digital goods, Filemonk is the obvious choice. Its features are tailored to that specific need, offering secure delivery, customization, and content protection. If you operate in India and need GST compliance, GST Pro is the necessary tool. It automates invoice generation and provides the reports required to meet Indian tax regulations. A merchant would likely only need one or the other, rarely both. While Filemonk has more reviews, this doesn't necessarily indicate it's superior, but simply reflects a broader potential user base (any digital goods seller globally) as compared to the geo-targeted GST Pro.
Common Questions
Can both apps be used simultaneously?
While technically possible, they serve completely different functions. A merchant would only need both if they sell digital goods *and* need to comply with Indian GST regulations.
Does Filemonk help with physical product order fulfillment?
No, Filemonk is exclusively for digital downloads and does not offer any features related to physical product fulfillment.
Does GST Pro support invoicing outside of India?
The app description focuses solely on GST compliance for India. It is highly unlikely to support invoicing standards for other countries.
How easy is it to customize the branding with Filemonk?
Filemonk emphasizes brand customization, suggesting a high degree of control over the download experience to match your brand's aesthetic.
Are there any free trials for either app?
The app descriptions do not mention free trials. Merchants should check the Shopify App Store listings for the most up-to-date information on pricing and trial availability.
