Digital Takeout: OrderLimits vs EZ Checkout Controller | Rulesfor Shopify (2026)
Digital Takeout: OrderLimits and EZ Checkout Controller | Rules both address the need for order limit management on Shopify stores, but cater to different merchant needs and offer vastly different feature sets. OrderLimits, by Digital Takeout, focuses primarily on setting basic minimum and maximum values on parameters like order quantity and weight. It positions itself as a simple, no-code solution for merchants looking for fundamental order control. EZ Checkout Controller | Rules, on the other hand, provides a comprehensive suite of tools for managing the entire checkout process, including advanced order limits based on various factors, fraud protection, and customization options for payment and shipping methods. It caters to merchants requiring greater control and customization of the checkout experience. The significant difference lies in the scope of features offered. While OrderLimits concentrates solely on order limits and ease of use, EZ Checkout Controller provides a much broader range of functionalities including the ability to block specific IP addresses, countries, and enable fraud protection. This makes EZ Checkout Controller a more powerful, but potentially more complex, solution compared to OrderLimits. The difference in ratings (2.6/5 vs 5/5) and the slightly higher number of reviews for EZ Checkout Controller also suggest differing levels of user satisfaction and a possibly broader user base for the latter.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a straightforward and uncomplicated solution solely for setting basic order limits (e.g., minimum/maximum quantity), Digital Takeout: OrderLimits might suffice. However, the low rating and limited features raise concerns about its effectiveness and user satisfaction. EZ Checkout Controller | Rules is the superior choice for merchants needing a comprehensive solution to customize and control their checkout process. The higher rating, broader feature set (including fraud protection and IP blocking), and ability to tailor rules based on various factors make it a more powerful and versatile option. While it may have a steeper learning curve due to its extensive functionality, the added control and customization capabilities likely outweigh the complexity for most businesses.
