Our Verdict
Discord Connect is ideal for Shopify stores aiming to integrate their customer base with their Discord community, offering features like role-based access and product purchase verification for exclusive channel access. This app provides benefits for merchants who want to improve user engagement and build a stronger customer community within Discord. Wait.li, however, is a better choice for merchants planning to launch a new product and want to generate excitement and build a customer base beforehand through referral-based waiting lists. If your goal is to grow anticipation and acquire initial customers prior to launch, Wait.li is likely the better fit.
Common Questions
Which app is better for increasing customer engagement?
Discord Connect is likely better for increasing customer engagement *after* a purchase, through Discord integration, role-based access, and community building. Wait.li focuses on pre-launch engagement.
Which app is easier to set up?
Without user interface or backend access, it is hard to determine, but Wait.li likely simpler because it does not need to integrate with the Discord API.
Which app is more suitable for a small business?
Both apps could be suitable for small businesses depending on their specific needs. Wait.li might be particularly helpful for creating initial buzz around a new product launch on a limited budget.
If I have neither Discord nor an upcoming product launch, which app should I choose?
Neither. Both apps are designed for specific needs: Discord integration or pre-launch marketing. If you don't have either of these needs, these apps will not be useful for you.
Which app offers more direct control over user permissions?
Discord Connect gives you more direct control over user permissions within Discord, based on roles assigned according to product purchases or other criteria. Wait.li focuses on waiting list positioning and access to purchase rather than detailed permission management.
