Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a versatile solution to implement various discount strategies, Discount Mixer: Bulk Discounts offers an array of options, from product-level discounts to cart-wide promotions. It allows for detailed customization and control over different sales events, with features like customer rules and tagging.
If the main goal is to increase average order value by strategically offering free shipping, Hextom: Free Shipping Bar is the superior choice. Merchants already offering free shipping would benefit significantly. If no shipping discounts are in place, Discount Mixer is probably the better option.
Common Questions
Does Discount Mixer: Bulk Discounts offer features similar to Hextom's free shipping bar?
While Discount Mixer offers shipping discounts, it's part of a broader suite of discount types. Hextom: Free Shipping Bar specializes exclusively in free shipping promotions, offering more advanced targeting and messaging specific to that incentive.
Which app is easier to set up and manage?
Hextom: Free Shipping Bar is likely easier to set up and manage due to its narrower focus. Discount Mixer, with its diverse discounting features, will require more time and effort to configure and maintain effectively.
Which app offers better A/B testing capabilities?
The descriptions provided do not explicitly mention A/B testing capabilities for either app. However, Hextom's targeting and scheduling capabilities could be leveraged for quasi-A/B testing by running different shipping offers at different times or to different customer segments.
If I already use another discount app, which app should I choose?
If you already use a discount app, assess whether it already handles free shipping effectively. If not, Hextom: Free Shipping Bar can complement your existing app. If your current app is limited and you need broader discounting options, consider Discount Mixer: Bulk Discounts instead.
Are these apps compatible with all Shopify themes?
The descriptions don't explicitly guarantee compatibility with *all* Shopify themes. Hextom claims it's compatible with all pages and requires no coding, suggesting broad compatibility. However, it's always best to check the app's documentation or contact the developers to confirm compatibility with your specific theme.
