Disputely vs Token of Trust Verificationfor Shopify (2026)
Disputely and Token of Trust Verification both address fraud concerns for Shopify merchants, but target vastly different problems. Disputely focuses on preventing and managing chargebacks by integrating with payment processors, CRMs, and sales tools. It aims to automate chargeback management, provide real-time fraud alerts, and protect revenue. Token of Trust Verification, on the other hand, is all about age verification for age-restricted products. It provides tools to verify customer age, set verification rules based on product tags, and comply with age-related regulations and compliance mandates. The core distinction lies in their focus: Disputely tackles payment fraud, while Token of Trust Verification deals with age verification requirements. Based on the available data, Token of Trust Verification appears to be the more established and positively received app, evidenced by its perfect rating and existing user reviews. Disputely, while promising a more comprehensive solution for chargeback prevention, lacks any user feedback, making it difficult to assess its effectiveness and reliability. Both apps aim to simplify complex processes, but Disputely's broader scope might also introduce greater complexity in implementation and integration compared to the more focused functionality of Token of Trust Verification.

Our Verdict
For merchants selling age-restricted products, Token of Trust Verification is the clear choice. It directly addresses their specific need for age verification and provides tools for compliance. Its positive rating and existing reviews further enhance its credibility. However, it's important to note the small number of reviews.
Disputely, while potentially valuable for merchants facing chargeback issues and payment fraud, carries more risk due to the lack of user feedback. Merchants considering Disputely should proceed cautiously and potentially explore alternative solutions with established track records. If chargebacks are a pressing issue, a thorough trial period is warranted before making a commitment, as integration might be more complex.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the descriptions, Token of Trust Verification likely has a simpler setup due to its focused functionality. Disputely, with its broader integration requirements (payment processors, CRMs, etc.), might require more technical expertise.
Which app is more comprehensive in its fraud prevention capabilities?
Disputely claims to offer more comprehensive fraud prevention by tackling chargebacks directly and providing real-time alerts. Token of Trust Verification focuses solely on preventing underage purchases and does not provide other fraud prevention tools.
How effective is Disputely's chargeback prevention if it has no reviews?
It's impossible to determine Disputely's effectiveness without user reviews. Merchants should exercise caution and seek alternative, proven solutions or carefully evaluate a trial period before committing to Disputely. Consider contacting the developer for a product demo and references.
Does Token of Trust Verification handle all types of fraud?
No, Token of Trust Verification focuses specifically on verifying the age of customers to prevent the purchase of age-restricted products. It does not address other types of fraud such as stolen credit cards or identity theft.
Are both apps GDPR compliant?
The provided information doesn't explicitly mention GDPR compliance for either app. Merchants should verify GDPR compliance with both app developers to ensure they adhere to data privacy regulations, especially when handling customer data for age verification or payment processing.
