Disputer by Safe App vs Fraud Judge Fraud Preventionfor Shopify (2026)
Disputer by Safe App and Fraud Judge Fraud Prevention both aim to help Shopify merchants combat fraud, but they approach the problem from different angles. Disputer focuses on *reactive* chargeback management by automating responses and providing health score monitoring, appealing to merchants who already experience a significant volume of chargebacks and want to streamline the dispute process. In contrast, Fraud Judge is a *proactive* fraud prevention tool, emphasizing order verification through custom rules, ID requests, and address validation. This makes it a better fit for merchants who want to reduce fraudulent orders before they happen and minimize chargebacks in the first place. A key difference is the stage at which they intervene: Disputer after a chargeback is initiated, Fraud Judge before an order is fulfilled.

Our Verdict
Based on the information available in 2026, Fraud Judge Fraud Prevention appears to be the stronger choice for most merchants. Its proactive approach offers better long-term protection against fraud, and the positive user reviews (albeit a small sample size) provide some validation. However, merchants already struggling with a high volume of chargebacks and who need a solution to automate the response process might find Disputer by Safe App useful, *if* the lack of reviews can be overlooked or verified through other channels. Ultimately, a merchant would want to wait and see if Disputer accrues positive reviews before investing.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
The descriptions suggest Fraud Judge might be more complex to set up initially due to the custom rules, ID and address verification configurations. However, Disputer requires store connection and presumably, some level of customization for optimal chargeback responses. This makes it hard to tell which is easier without trying them.
Which app is more cost-effective?
The cost of each app is not mentioned in the provided data. Therefore, it's impossible to determine which is more cost-effective. Merchants would need to compare pricing plans, considering factors like order volume and chargeback frequency.
Does Disputer prevent fraud or just respond to it?
Based on the description, Disputer primarily focuses on responding to chargebacks after they occur, rather than preventing the fraudulent orders in the first place. The 'health score monitoring' aspect *could* indirectly help identify patterns of fraudulent behavior, but this is not explicitly stated.
What happens if Fraud Judge incorrectly flags a legitimate order?
The description mentions customization to reduce risk. Merchants can adjust rules to minimize false positives. The ID and address verification features allow customers to prove the validity of their purchase.
Which app is more scalable?
Both apps appear scalable. Disputer automates chargeback responses, making it suitable for increasing chargeback volume. Fraud Judge's customizable rules can be adjusted as a business grows and faces evolving fraud threats.
