Disputer by Safe App vs OTP ‑ CoD Order Verificationfor Shopify (2026)
Disputer by Safe App and OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification both target fraud prevention on Shopify, but address entirely different types of issues and stages of the customer journey. Disputer focuses on *reactive* fraud prevention by automating chargeback responses and providing health score monitoring to understand a store's vulnerability to fraudulent activities from a bank's perspective. Its value proposition lies in saving time and mitigating financial losses associated with chargebacks after they occur. It aims to assist merchants in understanding and improving their store's standing with financial institutions. On the other hand, OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification is *proactive*, aiming to reduce fraudulent or unwanted Cash on Delivery (CoD) orders *before* they are fulfilled. OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification centers on order verification via WhatsApp, SMS, or email OTP, thereby reducing fake orders and Return to Origin (RTO). It caters to merchants, especially those in regions where CoD is prevalent, that struggle with high RTO rates and the associated costs and inventory issues. Furthermore, it enhances the customer experience by providing automated order status updates. The choice between these two depends heavily on the specific fraud challenges a merchant faces. Do they experience a lot of chargebacks post-sale, or a high volume of fake/unwanted CoD orders pre-fulfillment?

Our Verdict
OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification is the better choice for merchants struggling with fraudulent or unwanted Cash on Delivery orders, especially in regions where CoD is a common payment method. Its proactive approach directly addresses the issue of RTO and fake orders. The current perfect rating, albeit based on a small number of reviews, suggests that users find the app valuable and effective.
Disputer by Safe App is more suitable for merchants dealing with a significant volume of chargebacks after the sale. While it holds promise with its automated response system and health score monitoring, the lack of any reviews makes it impossible to assess its real-world effectiveness. Merchants should proceed cautiously with Disputer until it establishes a proven track record. In its current state, OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification is a more reliable choice for the specific problem it solves.
