Our Verdict
For merchants dealing with a significant volume of tax-exempt sales, DIY Tax Exempt Checkout presents a valuable solution for automating the exemption process and minimizing manual intervention. The ability for customers to self-declare their status and upload supporting documents streamlines the checkout experience. However, the low number of reviews and middling rating suggests a need for caution and potentially further investigation into user experiences.
Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator is a more universally applicable tool. Its high rating and abundant reviews indicate that it successfully addresses the invoice generation needs of a broad range of Shopify merchants. If your primary focus is on creating professional and automated invoices, Oxilayer is the clear choice. However, if your primary need is to handle tax-exempt orders, DIY Tax Exempt Checkout has functionality Oxilayer does not.
