Donation Pop | Pop‑up in cart vs Loyoly ‑ Loyalty and Referralfor Shopify (2026)
Donation Pop | Pop‑up in cart and Loyoly ‑ Loyalty and Referral both aim to enhance the Shopify customer experience, but they tackle entirely different objectives. Donation Pop focuses on enabling merchants to collect donations for causes they support by presenting customers with a pre-checkout pop-up, a strategy especially valuable for mission-driven businesses. Loyoly, on the other hand, provides a comprehensive loyalty and referral program with the goal of increasing customer retention and collecting user-generated content (UGC) through a variety of missions and rewards. The key difference lies in their core functionality. Donation Pop is a niche app designed specifically for donation collection, while Loyoly offers a broader suite of tools for building customer loyalty and engagement. While both apps contribute to customer relationships, Donation Pop leverages altruism, while Loyoly uses incentives and gamification. Merchants should choose based on whether their primary goal is fundraising or fostering long-term customer loyalty and brand ambassadorship.

Our Verdict
If your primary objective is to support a cause and easily collect donations from customers during checkout, Donation Pop is the clear choice. Its simplicity and focus on donation collection make it ideal for businesses with a strong social mission.
However, if you're looking to build a comprehensive customer loyalty program, encourage referrals, and actively gather user-generated content, Loyoly is the superior option. While it might require more initial setup, the broader range of features and the established track record (indicated by the higher number of reviews) suggest a greater potential for long-term customer engagement and retention.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim easy setup. Donation Pop is likely simpler due to its singular focus, while Loyoly offers a broader range of customizable features that may require more initial configuration.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, but it depends on your store's design. Using both might create a crowded checkout experience. It's essential to consider whether a donation pop-up and a loyalty program prompt will overwhelm customers.
Which app is more likely to increase sales?
Loyoly is more directly linked to increasing sales through loyalty rewards and referrals. Donation Pop may indirectly increase sales by appealing to customers who support your cause, but its primary purpose is donation collection, not revenue generation.
Does Donation Pop integrate with loyalty programs?
The description doesn't explicitly mention integration with loyalty programs. It focuses solely on pre-checkout donation prompts.
How much do these apps cost?
The data doesn't provide pricing information. Merchants should check the Shopify App Store for current pricing details for both Donation Pop and Loyoly.
