Doppelganger vs Singleton | Rich Registrationfor Shopify (2026)
Doppelganger and Singleton | Rich Registration both operate within the Customer Loyalty category on Shopify, but they address vastly different problems. Doppelganger focuses on resolving data integrity issues by identifying and merging duplicate customer accounts to provide a more accurate Customer Lifetime Value (CLV). It targets merchants struggling with fragmented customer data due to multiple contact methods (POS, multiple email addresses). Singleton | Rich Registration's specific functionality isn't clear from the provided data other than the rating and category, however its name suggests features relate to enhancing the customer registration process. Given the limited data, it is difficult to directly compare core functionality. However, the significant disparity in ratings and number of reviews speaks volumes. Doppelganger's low rating (2.3/5) and minimal review count (7) indicates potential usability or effectiveness issues, or possibly a lack of adoption. Singleton | Rich Registration, on the other hand, boasts a high rating (4.9/5) and a more substantial number of reviews (19), suggesting higher user satisfaction and broader usage. The descriptions suggest Doppelganger is most valuable to merchants concerned about data hygiene and CLV accuracy across fragmented customer profiles, while Singleton appears to focus on front-end registration enhancements.

Our Verdict
For merchants struggling with inaccurate CLV due to duplicate customer accounts and needing a solution to merge them, Doppelganger *might* be an option. However, its significantly lower rating should give pause. Merchants should carefully investigate the reasons for the low rating and consider alternatives. Without more information about Singleton | Rich Registration, it's difficult to make a definitive recommendation. If the merchant is simply looking to streamline or enhance customer registration, and does not have a duplicate account problem, Singleton | Rich Registration appears to be the better choice due to its superior rating and higher number of reviews. Given the limited data, and the rating disparity, Singleton | Rich Registration is generally the safer starting point for most merchants.
