Doppelganger vs Swish (formerly Wishlist King)for Shopify (2026)
Doppelganger and Swish (formerly Wishlist King) address vastly different needs for Shopify merchants, despite both technically residing within the 'Customer Loyalty' category. Doppelganger focuses on backend data management, specifically resolving duplicate customer accounts to improve the accuracy of Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) calculations. Its strength lies in its privacy-focused approach and ability to link and merge accounts, targeting merchants struggling with inaccurate customer data due to multiple accounts per customer or point-of-sale integrations. The app aims for increased data integrity for more informed business decisions. Swish (formerly Wishlist King), on the other hand, is a customer-facing app focused on enhancing the shopping experience and driving sales through wishlist functionality. It aims to increase customer engagement and conversion rates. Its strengths lie in its rich feature set, extensive integrations (Klaviyo, GA4, Meta), and free setup and customization service, targeting merchants focused on actively improving their customer journey and leveraging personalization for sales growth. Its value proposition centers around increased sales and customer satisfaction, a goal very different from data integrity. Choosing between Doppelganger and Swish (formerly Wishlist King) depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant is struggling with inaccurate CLV data due to duplicate accounts or POS integrations and prioritizing data privacy, Doppelganger is the more relevant solution. However, the low rating and limited reviews are a concern and warrant further investigation before commitment.
For merchants focused on increasing sales and customer engagement through enhanced shopping experiences and personalization, Swish (formerly Wishlist King) is the clearly superior choice.
