Dopple vs Picture It: AR & Art Previewsfor Shopify (2026)
Dopple and Picture It: AR & Art Previews both aim to enhance the customer experience using 3D and AR technologies, but target distinctly different product categories and offer contrasting levels of initial user validation. Dopple focuses on enabling merchants to create fully configurable 3D models of their products, appealing to businesses selling customizable items requiring complex visualization. It emphasizes interactive features like auto-rotate, snapshots, and detailed analytics. Picture It: AR & Art Previews, in contrast, centers on providing augmented reality previews specifically for wall art, furniture, and decor, allowing customers to visualize products in their own spaces without needing pre-existing 3D models. Picture It: AR & Art Previews boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 35 reviews, suggesting a reliable and well-received solution for its niche. It emphasizes ease of use, particularly with features like automatic dimension import and frame addition. Dopple, however, currently lacks any user reviews, presenting a higher risk for merchants despite its broader feature set. While Dopple's configurable 3D models cater to businesses offering complex product variations, Picture It's focus on simplified AR previews for art and decor provides a quick and user-friendly solution for a specific vertical.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants selling art, decor, or similar items, Picture It: AR & Art Previews is the clear choice due to its established positive reputation, ease of use, and focus on enhancing art sales with AR. The lack of 3D model requirement and features like auto-framing make it a quick and simple solution. Its virtual showroom feature further enhances the customer experience in this product category.
Dopple, despite its wider feature set and potential for creating interactive product experiences, presents a greater risk due to the lack of reviews. It may suit merchants with configurable products and the resources to invest in 3D model creation and potentially more complex setup. However, in 2026, the lack of user validation makes it a less immediately trustworthy option than Picture It.
