Doran: Draft Orders for POS vs MS Barcode Labels & Generatorfor Shopify (2026)
Doran: Draft Orders for POS and MS Barcode Labels & Generator cater to different, albeit related, needs within the retail and in-person selling categories on Shopify. Doran focuses on streamlining the creation and management of draft orders within the Shopify POS system. It positions itself as a time-saver by automating the transfer of draft orders between Shopify Admin and POS, catering to merchants who frequently use draft orders for custom sales, quotes, or layaway programs. Its key strength lies in its ability to convert draft orders to POS carts and vice versa, along with supporting line item properties and discounts. MS Barcode Labels & Generator, on the other hand, addresses the need for efficient barcode label creation and printing. It offers tools to generate various barcode formats and SKUs, design custom labels, and print them on different paper types and sizes. Its strength lies in its comprehensive barcode label generation and printing capabilities, along with its integration with Stocky for streamlined purchase order label printing. The key differentiator is that Doran deals with the *creation and management* of orders within the POS environment, specifically using draft orders, whereas MS Barcode Labels & Generator focuses on the *physical representation* of product information in the form of barcodes and labels. While both apps are categorized under 'Selling in person' and 'Retail,' their functionalities serve distinct areas of a retail business.
