Doran Product Reviews App & QA vs Google Reviews by Trustifyfor Shopify (2026)
Doran Product Reviews App & QA and Google Reviews by Trustify both aim to enhance social proof and build trust on Shopify stores via reviews. However, they approach this with different focuses. Doran appears to be a more general product reviews app, likely focusing on collecting and managing reviews directly on the Shopify store itself. Google Reviews by Trustify, on the other hand, specifically targets merchants who want to leverage existing Google reviews to build credibility by importing reviews from Google Maps and Google Shopping, and even integrating with Google Customer Reviews post-checkout. The primary difference lies in the review source. Doran focuses on on-site reviews, while Trustify taps into the power of Google's review ecosystem. Trustify also offers features like automatic translation to support multilingual stores and a variety of widget layouts for customization. The larger number of reviews for Doran suggests a longer presence in the market and potentially a wider user base. However, Trustify's focus on Google reviews can be a significant advantage for businesses heavily reliant on Google for customer acquisition and reputation management.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing collecting and showcasing reviews directly on their website, and who don't heavily rely on Google's ecosystem, Doran Product Reviews App & QA might be a suitable choice, especially considering the higher review count and perfect rating. However, for businesses that actively manage their Google Business Profile (Google Maps) or sell through Google Shopping, Google Reviews by Trustify offers a clear advantage. Its ability to import existing Google reviews, integrate with Google Customer Reviews, and automatically translate them makes it a powerful tool for leveraging their Google reputation.
If a merchant is starting from scratch and wants to build up reviews quickly, Doran may be better in the short term. But, if a merchant already has a substantial number of positive Google reviews, Google Reviews by Trustify offers immediate social proof benefits. The choice ultimately depends on the merchant's current review landscape and their reliance on the Google ecosystem.
