Doran Product Reviews App & QA vs My Storiesfor Shopify (2026)
Doran Product Reviews App & QA and My Stories both boast a perfect 5/5 rating, but cater to very different needs within the e-commerce space. Doran focuses on building social proof through customer-generated reviews and Q&A, aiming to instill confidence in potential buyers by showcasing genuine experiences. My Stories, on the other hand, leverages the power of short-form video, similar to Instagram and TikTok stories, to enhance product visualization and engagement directly on the store's website. It seeks to increase conversions by offering dynamic and visually appealing product presentations. The primary distinction lies in their method of social proof and engagement. Doran harnesses the power of reviews and Q&A, creating a forum for potential customers to learn from previous buyers. My Stories attempts to create social proof and engagement through attractive and helpful video stories and allows for customisation of design features. The significantly larger number of reviews for Doran suggests a more established presence and potentially wider adoption, although the higher number of reviews also suggests a longer period since release. The choice between the two apps hinges on a merchant's strategy for building trust and engagement: authentic customer feedback (Doran) versus engaging visual storytelling (My Stories). It is important to note that the ratings are not necessarily an indicator of overall quality as My Stories only has 9 reviews.
