Doran Product Reviews App & QA vs Social Media Live Counterfor Shopify (2026)
Doran Product Reviews App & QA focuses squarely on collecting and displaying product reviews and Q&A, directly addressing a core aspect of social proof: customer validation of products. Its high rating and substantial number of reviews (510) suggest it's a well-established and trusted solution for generating and managing on-site product feedback. This builds trust by showcasing genuine customer experiences directly related to the products being sold. The implicit target audience is merchants prioritizing product-specific credibility and wanting a dedicated tool for review management. Social Media Live Counter, on the other hand, leverages a merchant's existing social media presence to build trust by displaying follower counts, likes, and other engagement metrics. Its headline emphasizes converting social presence into visible credibility to drive more sales. While it also falls under the social proof category, it's focused on brand-level credibility rather than individual product feedback. With a lower rating of 4.8/5 and only 5 reviews, it's a newer or less widely adopted app compared to Doran Product Reviews. Its target audience is merchants with a strong social media presence seeking to leverage those follower counts for increased conversions.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing product-specific credibility and needing a system to actively manage and display product reviews and Q&A, Doran Product Reviews App & QA is the clear choice. Its high rating and large number of reviews indicate a well-established and reliable solution for this specific need.
However, if a merchant already has a strong social media presence and wants to visually showcase that presence to build brand credibility and drive conversions, Social Media Live Counter might be a useful addition. It's best suited for stores whose success relies heavily on their brand reputation and following across various social platforms. Given the low review count, carefully test its effectiveness and integration with your store's theme.
