DPD Fulfilment UK vs Spaceship: Shipping Automationfor Shopify (2026)
DPD Fulfilment UK and Spaceship: Shipping Automation both aim to streamline shipping for Shopify merchants, but they operate with different approaches and target distinct merchant needs. DPD Fulfilment UK presents itself as a fully automated 3PL solution, focusing on end-to-end fulfillment within the UK and offering automated order pick, pack, and dispatch from a centralized warehouse. It emphasizes next-day delivery capabilities within the UK using DPD's infrastructure and promises to free up merchant time for core business activities. The app manages inventory and handles order updates, focusing on hands-off fulfillment for UK-centric businesses. Spaceship: Shipping Automation, in contrast, positions itself as a shipping automation tool that empowers merchants to manage their own shipping using a network of carriers globally. It offers instant rate comparison across multiple carriers, bulk label generation, and IOSS setup for EU shipments. Spaceship primarily focuses on helping merchants find the best rates and efficiently create shipping labels, giving them more control over the shipping process and potentially broader geographic reach than DPD Fulfilment UK. While both apps update order fulfillment status and provide tracking, Spaceship focuses on optimizing the shipping *process*, while DPD focuses on *performing* the fulfillment.
