DPO Dynamic Product Options vs Frame It Easyfor Shopify (2026)
DPO Dynamic Product Options (DPO) and Frame It Easy, while both falling under the 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' Shopify categories, cater to significantly different merchant needs. DPO focuses on enabling merchants to offer a wider array of customized product options to their customers directly within their existing product offerings. Frame It Easy, on the other hand, provides a fully integrated print-on-demand and framing service specifically for artists and photographers. The primary difference lies in whether the merchant wants to manage customization directly (DPO) or outsource the printing, framing, and fulfillment (Frame It Easy). Frame It Easy streamlines the process of selling framed art, removing the burden of production and shipping from the artist.

Our Verdict
For merchants aiming to offer highly customizable products beyond framed art – like clothing with personalized text, electronics with color choices, or furniture with fabric selections – DPO Dynamic Product Options is the better choice. Its high rating and significant number of reviews suggest a robust and reliable app for managing complex product variations. In contrast, Frame It Easy is purpose-built for artists and photographers who want to sell their work framed without handling the production and fulfillment logistics. While the rating is lower and the number of reviews is significantly smaller, if your primary goal is to sell framed art and photography without the overhead of production, Frame It Easy provides a streamlined solution.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Without further usage information, we must go by the provided data. Because DPO boasts many more reviews and has a perfect score, we can infer that users found it to be straightforward to install and implement. Frame It Easy's small review count doesn't offer sufficient data to make a comparison.
Which app requires more initial investment?
Frame It Easy requires no upfront inventory costs, as it operates on a print-on-demand model. DPO, however, likely requires an initial investment in materials or components to fulfill the customized options offered. The exact amount depends on the range of options offered and the inventory management strategy.
Can I use both apps on my Shopify store?
Potentially, yes. If you sell art prints *and* other customizable products, you could use DPO for the latter and Frame It Easy for the former. However, this would add complexity to your store management.
Which app is better for increasing average order value?
Both apps have the potential to increase average order value. DPO achieves this by allowing customers to add more features and complexity to products, driving up the price. Frame It Easy increases perceived value by offering art already framed and ready-to-hang.
Which app handles shipping and fulfillment?
DPO Dynamic Product Options requires the merchant to handle shipping and fulfillment. Frame It Easy provides fast nationwide dropshipping, handling the shipping and fulfillment process directly.
