DPO Dynamic Product Options vs Hide Pricefor Shopify (2026)
DPO Dynamic Product Options (DPO) and Hide Price both cater to Shopify merchants interested in managing product pricing, though they do so through fundamentally different approaches. DPO focuses on offering customizable product options, allowing for dynamic pricing based on the selected options. In contrast, Hide Price is designed to restrict price visibility and 'Add to Cart' functionality from non-logged-in users, primarily targeting B2B wholesalers aiming to gate access to pricing for registered customers. DPO aims to enhance the customer experience and potentially increase sales through tailored product configurations, while Hide Price prioritizes control over pricing and customer qualification.

Our Verdict
Based on the available data, DPO Dynamic Product Options is likely the safer and more reliable choice due to its established positive reputation (5/5 rating with 290 reviews). It's suited for merchants needing to offer a wide variety of product customizations and accurately reflect those customizations in the price. Hide Price, with no reviews and a 0/5 rating, presents a higher risk. However, if a merchant's primary goal is to hide prices and 'Add to Cart' buttons from non-logged-in users, particularly in a B2B wholesale context, then Hide Price might be considered. However, due to the lack of validation, thorough testing is crucial before implementation.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Without user feedback on Hide Price, it's impossible to say definitively. However, a 5/5 rating and 290 reviews for DPO Dynamic Product Options suggests a relatively positive user experience, hinting at potentially easier usability.
Which app is better for B2C businesses?
DPO Dynamic Product Options would generally be more suitable for B2C businesses needing to offer product customization options. Hide Price's primary function of hiding prices from non-logged-in users is typically less relevant in a B2C context.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, but it's unlikely to be necessary. DPO offers dynamic pricing, and Hide Price focuses solely on restricting price visibility. Using both could create a confusing user experience.
Which app is likely to provide better customer support?
DPO Dynamic Product Options, with its established user base and positive reviews, likely has a more mature customer support system. The lack of reviews for Hide Price makes it impossible to assess its support quality.
How does DPO affect the shopping cart experience compared to Hide Price?
DPO enhances the shopping cart by allowing customers to select specific product options, which can alter the final price. Hide Price, on the other hand, prevents users from even seeing the 'Add to Cart' button unless they are logged in, drastically altering the shopping experience for unregistered users.
