DPO Dynamic Product Options vs HidePay: Hide Payment Methodsfor Shopify (2026)
DPO Dynamic Product Options and HidePay: Hide Payment Methods, while both falling under Shopify's 'Pricing' and 'Pricing quotes' categories, serve fundamentally different purposes. DPO focuses on enhancing the product customization experience by allowing for dynamic options that impact pricing, likely targeting merchants with highly customizable product offerings. In contrast, HidePay targets merchants who need fine-grained control over which payment methods are displayed to customers, potentially based on factors like location, order value, or specific product selections. They both have impressive ratings, with DPO scoring a perfect 5/5 and HidePay close behind at 4.9/5. HidePay has slightly more reviews than DPO, suggesting a broader user base or perhaps an earlier market entry. Their strengths lie in different areas: DPO excels in improving the customer experience and upselling through product options, while HidePay focuses on streamlining the checkout process by tailoring payment methods. The choice between the two depends heavily on the merchant's specific needs – product customization vs. payment method management.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing enhanced product customization and dynamic pricing, DPO Dynamic Product Options is the clear choice. Its perfect rating suggests strong user satisfaction and effective implementation. If the primary goal is to optimize the checkout process by selectively hiding payment methods to improve conversion rates or cater to specific customer segments, HidePay: Hide Payment Methods is the better option. Its slightly higher review count indicates a more widely adopted solution, even with a near-perfect rating. Ultimately, the decision hinges on whether the merchant needs to improve product selection or streamline the payment process.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Without specific information about the app's interfaces, it's difficult to say definitively. However, HidePay's function of hiding payment methods is conceptually simpler, suggesting potentially easier setup. DPO, dealing with complex product option logic, might require more initial configuration.
Which app will likely have a greater impact on Average Order Value (AOV)?
DPO Dynamic Product Options is more likely to directly impact AOV by encouraging customers to add more options and upgrades to their orders. HidePay primarily focuses on conversion rates, which indirectly can affect AOV, but not as directly as DPO.
Are the apps compatible with each other?
The provided data doesn't mention compatibility. However, they address different aspects of the customer journey (product selection vs. checkout), so it's plausible they could be used together, though thorough testing would be needed.
What happens if I need both dynamic product options AND control over payment methods?
In that case, you would likely need to install both apps. DPO handles the product customization, while HidePay manages payment gateway visibility. Just be sure to test for any potential conflicts during checkout.
Which app is more likely to require developer assistance for implementation?
DPO Dynamic Product Options, particularly if dealing with complex product dependencies or custom integrations, might be more likely to require developer assistance. HidePay, focusing on payment gateway configuration, might be more manageable for merchants with less technical expertise.
