DPO Dynamic Product Options vs Hubify Product Custom Optionsfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, the Shopify app landscape for custom product options presents a stark contrast between DPO Dynamic Product Options and Hubify Product Custom Options. DPO Dynamic Product Options, boasting a perfect 5/5 rating from a substantial 290 reviews, positions itself as a reliable and well-regarded solution. This suggests a strong user satisfaction rate and a mature product, likely favored by merchants seeking a proven and dependable option for complex product configurations. Conversely, Hubify Product Custom Options, with a significantly lower 1/5 rating based on a single review, appears to be a relatively untested or problematic option. Despite offering a diverse range of custom option types (text fields, checkboxes, color swatches, date pickers, and image uploads), its apparent lack of positive user feedback is a considerable red flag. Hubify's primary focus, based on its headline and description, is enabling merchants to add custom options directly within the admin panel, allowing customers to select those options during the ordering process.

Our Verdict
Given the available data in 2026, DPO Dynamic Product Options is the clearly safer and more reliable choice for most Shopify merchants seeking to implement custom product options. Its strong rating and abundant positive reviews suggest a positive user experience and a functional product. Merchants who prioritize stability and a proven track record should opt for DPO.
Hubify Product Custom Options, while boasting a potentially comprehensive set of features, carries significant risk due to its extremely low rating and lack of reviews. Only merchants willing to gamble on an unproven app and potentially troubleshoot issues should consider Hubify, and even then, proceeding with extreme caution and thorough testing is essential.
Common Questions
Which app has better customer support, based on the data?
With a significantly higher number of reviews and a near-perfect rating, DPO Dynamic Product Options is likely to have a more robust and responsive customer support system than Hubify Product Custom Options.
Which app is likely easier to use, based on user feedback?
Based on the data available, DPO Dynamic Product Options is significantly more likely to be user-friendly. The large number of positive reviews strongly suggests a smoother and more intuitive user experience compared to Hubify.
Does Hubify's feature set compensate for its low rating?
No. While Hubify lists a broader explicit range of custom option types in its description, the extremely negative rating indicates potential instability or functionality issues that outweigh any perceived feature advantage. A functional, well-rated app is preferable to a feature-rich but poorly performing one.
Is it possible Hubify's rating is simply due to one negative experience?
Yes, it is possible. A rating based on a single review can be skewed by an isolated incident. However, in the absence of any other positive data, this single review should be considered a significant warning sign.
Should a merchant test both apps with a free trial (if available)?
Yes, if both apps offer a free trial, merchants should leverage this opportunity to test both platforms themselves. This hands-on experience can provide valuable insights into the usability and functionality of each app, allowing for a more informed decision beyond the provided data.
