DPO Dynamic Product Options vs Size Swatchfor Shopify (2026)
DPO Dynamic Product Options (DPO) and Size Swatch are both Shopify apps catering to the 'Custom products' category, but they address different needs within that space. DPO, with a perfect 5-star rating based on a substantial 290 reviews, likely provides a broader range of product customization options, targeting merchants needing extensive control over product configurations. Size Swatch, while having a slightly lower rating of 4.9 stars with 38 reviews, focuses specifically on visual representation of product variants, primarily sizes, directly on collection and homepage listings. Size Swatch emphasizes ease of use and visual appeal, targeting fashion stores or businesses where displaying available sizes and variations directly on collection pages is crucial for improving the shopping experience. It shines in its customization options for the swatches themselves, allowing merchants to align them with their store's branding. DPO, on the other hand, judging from its general name and higher review count, probably provides a more comprehensive suite of customization options, going beyond just sizes and potentially including options like colors, materials, or even custom text input fields. This would make it suitable for stores needing a wider array of product configuration capabilities.

Our Verdict
For fashion stores or businesses where visually displaying size and variant availability on collection pages is a priority, Size Swatch is the clear choice. Its focus on customization of the swatches to match store branding and automatic installation for many themes makes it quick to set up and easy to use. The urgency creation with low stock messages is a bonus.
However, if a store requires more extensive and diverse product customization options beyond just size/variant swatches, DPO Dynamic Product Options is likely the better option. Its higher review count suggests broader adoption and a more comprehensive feature set. While setup may be more complex, it offers the potential for significantly greater control over product configurations. Without seeing the features list of DPO, this decision is based solely on inference and the context of the category they share.
