DPO Dynamic Product Options vs SpurIT Dynamic Pricingfor Shopify (2026)
DPO Dynamic Product Options and SpurIT Dynamic Pricing are both 5-star rated Shopify apps in the Pricing category, but they serve fundamentally different purposes. DPO Dynamic Product Options, judging by the high number of reviews, likely allows merchants to offer customized product options (like colors, sizes, or personalized engravings) which impact pricing. SpurIT Dynamic Pricing, on the other hand, focuses on automating price adjustments based on product sales volume, aiming to boost sales of slow-moving inventory and capitalize on popular items by slightly increasing price. The two apps address different aspects of pricing strategy: product customization versus automated sales-driven pricing adjustments. SpurIT Dynamic Pricing targets merchants who want to automate inventory management and sales optimization through dynamic pricing adjustments based on performance. It's for those who find manually updating prices time-consuming and desire an automated system. DPO Dynamic Product Options caters to merchants selling products with customizable features that affect the final price. The difference in review count suggests DPO has a larger user base and potentially a longer track record, offering established reliability and community support that SpurIT, at the moment, does not. Understanding the type of product being sold, as well as desired level of pricing automation, is vital to choosing the most appropriate tool.

Our Verdict
If you sell products with variations or custom options (sizes, colors, personalized messages) that influence the final price, DPO Dynamic Product Options is likely the better fit, given its robust user base. However, if you are looking for a hands-off solution to automatically adjust prices based on product sales data in an attempt to clear inventory or capitalize on popular items, SpurIT Dynamic Pricing is a potentially valuable option. Given its minimal reviews, a thorough free trial evaluation and careful monitoring of the results are highly recommended before committing to a paid plan.
In essence, one caters to product personalization and complexity in pricing, while the other is for automated sales-based adjustments. Before selecting, consider which aspect of pricing is most critical to your business and prioritize accordingly. The low review count for SpurIT does raise a flag, and more investigation into its long-term reliability is warranted before relying on it for core pricing decisions.
Common Questions
What are the key differences between these apps?
DPO Dynamic Product Options likely handles pricing related to product customization, allowing you to charge differently for various options. SpurIT Dynamic Pricing automates price changes based on how well a product is selling, increasing prices for popular items and decreasing them for slow-moving ones.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
It depends. If your new store sells highly customizable products, DPO Dynamic Product Options might be necessary from the start. If your store sells simpler products but you want to automate price adjustments, SpurIT Dynamic Pricing *could* be helpful, but proceed with caution given the low review count. Monitor closely.
Is there a risk in using SpurIT Dynamic Pricing with only 2 reviews?
Yes. The low number of reviews suggests limited adoption and a higher risk of bugs, poor support, or even abandonment of the app by the developer. Thorough testing during the free trial is crucial.
Can these apps be used together?
Potentially, but with careful planning. DPO Dynamic Product Options would determine the base price based on selected customizations, and SpurIT Dynamic Pricing could then adjust that price based on sales performance. Ensure the pricing changes from SpurIT don't conflict with your pricing rules established through DPO.
What kind of support can I expect from these apps?
We cannot definitively determine the level of support without further information, however, larger review counts typically mean larger support teams and a higher likelihood of prompt and helpful assistance. SpurIT Dynamic Pricing might have limited support resources due to the low adoption rate.
