Dr Cart Shipping Rates & Rules vs Swap Globalfor Shopify (2026)
Dr Cart Shipping Rates & Rules and Swap Global cater to distinctly different needs within the Shopify shipping landscape. Dr Cart is a highly customizable shipping rate calculator, offering granular control over shipping costs based on a vast array of parameters (25+). Its strength lies in its flexibility, enabling merchants to define complex shipping rules tailored to product characteristics, location, and cart contents. It is better suited for merchants who want to define their own rates and rules, and offers more control in the cost-setting process. Swap Global, on the other hand, is focused on simplifying international shipping and handling tax compliance. It automates the calculation and collection of duties and taxes, guaranteeing landed costs and streamlining customs clearance. This makes it ideal for merchants looking to expand globally without the complexities of international tax regulations. They handle tax remittance and DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping, removing the need for merchants to register for tax filing in different locations.
