Dr Volume & Bulk Discount vs Milople Vat Exemptionfor Shopify (2026)
Dr Volume & Bulk Discount and Milople Vat Exemption, while both categorized under 'Pricing - Other', address vastly different needs for Shopify merchants. Dr Volume focuses on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) and conversion through automatically applied quantity breaks and tiered pricing discounts. Its strength lies in its simplicity, ease of setup, and native discount integration, targeting merchants looking to boost sales through volume-based incentives. It appears designed for general e-commerce, offering features applicable across diverse product ranges. Milople Vat Exemption, conversely, caters to a niche market of B2B and international sellers who need to manage Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance. Its key functionality revolves around enabling VAT-exempt purchases by allowing customers to self-identify, upload exemption documents, and view prices with or without tax included. The primary distinction lies in their core purpose: Dr Volume is a sales-boosting tool, while Milople Vat Exemption is a compliance and customer service solution. The former automates discounts to encourage larger orders, while the latter simplifies the VAT exemption process for eligible customers. The significantly higher rating and review count for Dr Volume suggests a greater adoption and positive reception within its target market, although the lack of reviews for Milople Vat Exemption could simply indicate it's a newer or more specialized app. Ultimately, the choice hinges on whether the merchant's primary need is to increase sales through quantity discounts or manage VAT compliance for B2B or international transactions.

Our Verdict
For the majority of Shopify merchants aiming to increase sales and AOV, Dr Volume & Bulk Discount is the clear choice. However, if your business primarily serves B2B or international customers subject to VAT exemptions, Milople Vat Exemption is essential. It provides the necessary tools to manage VAT compliance and offer a seamless experience for eligible customers. Choosing the right app depends entirely on the specific needs and target audience of your Shopify store. If you don't deal with VAT, Milople is not useful to you.
