Dr Volume & Bulk Discount vs WBL ‑ Custom Fees (POS)for Shopify (2026)
Dr Volume & Bulk Discount and WBL ‑ Custom Fees (POS) are both Shopify apps in the 'Pricing - Other' category, but they serve drastically different purposes and target different merchant needs. Dr Volume & Bulk Discount focuses on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) and conversion rates by offering tiered pricing and quantity-based discounts, automatically applied to the cart. This app is designed for merchants looking to incentivize larger purchases and clear inventory through volume discounts. In contrast, WBL ‑ Custom Fees (POS) caters specifically to merchants using Shopify POS who require the ability to add custom fees, such as delivery or handling charges, directly at the point of sale. It provides flexibility and transparency in charging customers for additional services or costs. The key difference lies in their functionalities: Dr Volume aims to boost sales through discounted pricing structures, while WBL allows for the addition of custom fees during checkout. The Dr Volume app automates discount application based on cart quantity, providing a hands-off approach for tiered pricing. WBL requires staff interaction to apply the fees at the POS, offering control and customization at the transaction level. Given the absence of ratings and reviews for WBL, and the perfect 5/5 rating and 24 reviews for Dr Volume, merchants seeking initial validation may find Dr Volume more appealing. However, the POS-specific functionality of WBL is a unique value proposition for those who require it.

Our Verdict
Dr Volume & Bulk Discount is ideal for online stores that want to increase sales by offering volume discounts. Its automated nature makes it easy to set up and manage tiered pricing. The existing positive reviews provide confidence in its functionality. WBL ‑ Custom Fees (POS) is a niche app designed specifically for Shopify POS users needing to incorporate custom fees into their checkout process.
Given the lack of reviews for WBL and the specific nature of its functionality, Dr Volume is generally the safer bet for a broader audience. If you specifically require the ability to add custom fees at your POS, and are comfortable being an early adopter, WBL may be suitable. However, thoroughly test WBL before relying on it for core business operations. For most online stores simply seeking to boost sales through discounts, Dr Volume is the recommended choice.
