Dragon UPC Barcodes Manager vs SKU Manager | Fontainefor Shopify (2026)
Dragon UPC Barcodes Manager and SKU Manager | Fontaine both cater to Shopify merchants needing better SKU and barcode management, but they approach the problem from different angles. Dragon UPC Barcodes Manager focuses on barcode validation and marketplace compliance, aiming to keep listings error-free and manageable on third-party platforms by handling UPC and GS1 barcodes. SKU Manager | Fontaine emphasizes automation and customization of SKU and barcode generation within the Shopify store itself. It seems built for merchants who want to quickly create and format SKUs and barcodes based on various product attributes. Dragon UPC Barcodes Manager seems oriented towards more established businesses already utilizing UPC and GS1 barcodes, or those planning to sell on marketplaces with strict barcode requirements. Its strength lies in identifying and resolving barcode-related errors that can hinder sales. Conversely, SKU Manager | Fontaine is more focused on efficiency and customization for initial SKU and barcode setup, and may appeal more to newer or smaller businesses seeking to automate their internal organization using rules and formatting to generate them quickly. Both apps share common features like duplicate checking, but they prioritize different aspects of barcode and SKU management.

Our Verdict
For merchants who are already using UPC and GS1 barcodes and want to ensure their Shopify store is compliant for selling on marketplaces like Amazon or Google Shopping, Dragon UPC Barcodes Manager appears to be the better choice. Its barcode validation features could prevent listing errors and ensure a smoother marketplace experience.
However, if a merchant is primarily concerned with quickly generating and formatting SKUs and barcodes within their Shopify store – particularly at initial setup or for managing a high volume of new products – SKU Manager | Fontaine is likely the better option. Its focus on automation and customization will save time and streamline internal processes, especially if the merchant is using SKUs and barcodes primarily for internal tracking and organization. The higher rating, though based on a single review, also may suggest better satisfaction (although a larger sample size is needed to confirm.)
