DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget vs ExchangeIt Returns & Exchangefor Shopify (2026)
DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget and ExchangeIt Returns & Exchange tackle the problem of returns from different angles. DRIP focuses on monetizing returns by facilitating the direct sale of open-box, damaged, or refurbished items. Its strength lies in enabling merchants to sell items they would otherwise write off, directly on their product pages, with customizable branding and dynamic pricing. This positions it as a solution for merchants dealing with a significant volume of imperfect or open-box inventory who want to control the sales process and maintain a direct customer relationship. ExchangeIt, on the other hand, streamlines the returns and exchange *process* itself, focusing on efficiency and customer service through an all-in-one admin portal and optional customer self-service. The key difference is that DRIP is about *selling* returns, while ExchangeIt is about *managing* them. DRIP aims to recover value from unsellable items, offering features like AI-powered translation and automatic deletion upon sale. ExchangeIt prioritizes process automation, with features for refunds, exchanges, restocks, and customer communication. While both apps are in the 'Returns and Exchanges' category, their approaches and target users are distinctly different: one for maximizing profit on problematic inventory, the other for optimizing the return workflow.

Our Verdict
The choice between DRIP and ExchangeIt depends heavily on your business needs. If your primary goal is to recover value from open-box, damaged, or refurbished inventory, DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget is the clear winner. Its features are specifically designed to facilitate the sale of these items, and its focus on direct customer interaction may be preferable for maintaining brand control.
However, if you're seeking a comprehensive solution to streamline your entire returns and exchange process, especially if you value a self-service portal for customers and want to reduce support overhead, ExchangeIt Returns & Exchange is the better option. While its rating is slightly lower, the higher number of reviews suggests broader adoption and a more mature platform for general returns management. Small differences in rating, with small review counts, can be misleading. ExchangeIt provides a more complete solution for managing all types of returns, not just selling imperfect items.
