DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget vs Protect+ Post Purchase Suitefor Shopify (2026)
DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget and Protect+ Post Purchase Suite both address the returns and warranty space for Shopify merchants, but they target different aspects and merchant needs. DRIP focuses specifically on selling open box or imperfect items directly on the product page. It aims to recapture revenue from items that would otherwise be unsellable as new, providing a direct and transparent way for customers to purchase these goods. Protect+, in contrast, offers a broader post-purchase protection suite, encompassing package protection, warranties, and a returns & exchanges portal. It's designed to build customer confidence and increase revenue through upsells like warranties, simplifying the returns process along the way. The main difference lies in DRIP's specific niche of 'imperfect' item sales, compared to Protect+'s wider coverage of post-purchase protection.

Our Verdict
The choice between DRIP and Protect+ depends heavily on the specific needs of the Shopify merchant. DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget is the clear choice for merchants who consistently have open box, refurbished, or slightly damaged items they want to sell directly on their site. Its focus on transparency and direct customer ownership makes it ideal for this niche. Protect+ Post Purchase Suite, on the other hand, is better suited for merchants seeking a comprehensive solution to build customer trust and increase revenue through post-purchase protections such as warranties and package insurance, as well as streamlining their general returns and exchanges process. If a merchant needs to manage warranties, offer package protection, and streamline returns, Protect+ is the more appropriate choice.
