DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget vs Shield Insurancefor Shopify (2026)
DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget and Shield Insurance both aim to improve customer experience and increase revenue, but they address very different aspects of the returns and warranty landscape. DRIP focuses on converting previously unsaleable open-box returns into sales by highlighting them directly on the product page. This is especially useful for merchants with a high volume of returned or imperfect items. DRIP provides tools for product listing, pricing and customization to match brand aesthetics. Shield Insurance, on the other hand, centers around offering shipping protection and warranty extensions to customers, thereby increasing trust and reducing post-purchase anxieties. This is suited for merchants selling high-value goods or those looking to reduce customer service burden related to lost, damaged, or stolen shipments. With its analytics dashboard and dynamic pricing, Shield Insurance streamlines the insurance offering process and tracks its impact on the business. The two apps share the 'Returns and warranty' category on Shopify, but their functions are distinct.
