DripCheck Fashion Try‑On vs Picture It: AR & Art Previewsfor Shopify (2026)
DripCheck Fashion Try‑On and Picture It: AR & Art Previews both leverage 3D/AR/VR technologies to enhance the online shopping experience on Shopify, but they cater to vastly different market segments. DripCheck focuses on the fashion industry, enabling customers to virtually 'try on' clothing items by submitting a photo. Its strength lies in offering unlimited try-ons, customizable branding, and sharing functionality designed to increase brand visibility and boost conversions. Picture It, on the other hand, is designed for art galleries, art stores, and decor shops selling wall art. It offers live AR previews, virtual showrooms, and automated dimension/framing import features. The fundamental distinction lies in their core functionality and target product type. DripCheck uses image processing to simulate wearing apparel, while Picture It relies on augmented reality to visualize wall art in a real-world environment. The maturity and user validation of these apps also differs significantly. Picture It boasts a perfect 5/5 rating with 35 reviews, indicating a solid user base and positive feedback. DripCheck, in contrast, lacks any ratings or reviews, signaling it's either a new or relatively untested app. This suggests a higher risk for merchants considering DripCheck. DripCheck requires customer photo submissions, while Picture It requires product dimensions. The choice between these apps hinges entirely on the products being sold. If you're selling fashion apparel, DripCheck is specifically designed for that, offering virtual try-ons. If you're selling wall art or decor, Picture It's AR previews and virtual showrooms provide a more suitable solution. The difference in user ratings also warrants careful consideration.

Our Verdict
For fashion apparel merchants, DripCheck Fashion Try‑On presents a potentially valuable tool to increase conversion rates by addressing customer uncertainty about fit. However, the complete lack of reviews introduces a significant risk. Merchants should proceed with caution and thoroughly test the app before widespread deployment. For art galleries and decor shops, Picture It: AR & Art Previews is the clear winner. Its established user base, positive reviews, and specialized features tailored to the art market make it a reliable and effective solution for boosting sales and customer satisfaction. The existing social proof makes Picture It the safer option.
Merchants should always prioritize apps with established track records, especially when dealing with technologies like AR/VR that can be complex to implement and maintain. While DripCheck's concept is promising, the absence of user validation makes it a gamble compared to Picture It's proven effectiveness within its niche.

Which app is better for a furniture store that also sells wall art?
