Drodl: Custom Product Options vs G: Combined Listings & Variantfor Shopify (2026)
Drodl: Custom Product Options and G: Combined Listings & Variant both address product customization and variants but cater to different needs. Drodl focuses on advanced, individual product customization with features like 22 field types, conditional logic, price add-ons, and upsell/bundle options. This makes it ideal for merchants selling products that require highly specific configurations, such as personalized goods or complex options. G: Combined Listings & Variant, on the other hand, prioritizes efficient variant management across a catalog, particularly for those exceeding Shopify's default limitations. It excels at grouping variants, improving SEO for variants, and simplifying bulk management, targeting merchants with extensive product lines and integration needs with external platforms like eBay and Etsy. The difference boils down to individual product configurability (Drodl) versus catalog-wide variant organization and enhanced display (G).

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with offering highly customizable products with numerous field options, conditional logic, and price add-ons, Drodl: Custom Product Options is the better choice. Its focus on individual product configuration provides the flexibility needed for complex product offerings. However, for merchants struggling with managing a vast number of variants across their catalog, needing to bypass Shopify's variant limits, and aiming to improve SEO for each variant, G: Combined Listings & Variant offers a more streamlined and efficient solution. Its bulk management capabilities and automated grouping features are invaluable for large-scale operations.
Common Questions
Which app is better for boosting Average Order Value (AOV)?
Drodl directly aims to boost AOV through built-in Upsell and Product Bundle features, along with Price Add-ons for custom options. G: Combined Listings & Variant focuses on better product organization and display, which can indirectly improve AOV, but lacks explicit AOV-boosting features.
Which app is easier to integrate with external marketplaces like eBay?
G: Combined Listings & Variant specifically mentions organizing products separately to streamline syncing with platforms like eBay or Etsy, suggesting easier integration with those marketplaces. Drodl does not mention any specific integrations.
Which app offers more control over the visual presentation of product options?
Drodl offers 22 field types, including Swatches and File Uploads, granting fine-grained control over the presentation of product options. G: Combined Listings & Variant also supports swatches, but seems to focus more on the overall product display than the individual option presentation.
If I have over 100 variants per product, which app should I choose?
G: Combined Listings & Variant explicitly states that it unlocks unlimited variants and bypasses Shopify's 100-variant restriction. Drodl does not make this claim, so G: Combined Listings & Variant is the better choice for this specific scenario.
Which app is more suitable for a small store with a limited product catalog?
Drodl could be suitable for a small store that sells highly customizable products, even with a small catalog. G: Combined Listings & Variant might be overkill for a small store unless variant management is a major pain point.
