Dropit Auctions vs Rimix Product Badges & Labelsfor Shopify (2026)
Dropit Auctions and Rimix Product Badges & Labels, while both listed under the 'Promotions - Other' category on Shopify, address drastically different needs. Dropit Auctions focuses on driving sales through a reverse auction format, creating FOMO and helping merchants discover optimal pricing for scarce goods. It caters to merchants looking for innovative sales tactics and dealing with high-demand, possibly unique, products. Rimix Product Badges & Labels, on the other hand, is a solution for visually enhancing product listings and highlighting key product attributes, such as discounts, new arrivals, or limited stock. It aims to improve conversion rates by making products more appealing and informative. The primary difference lies in their core function. Dropit Auctions is a sales mechanism, offering a unique way to sell products. Rimix focuses on product presentation and communication, enhancing existing sales processes rather than introducing a new one. Dropit Auctions emphasizes dynamic price discovery and customer engagement through bidding, while Rimix prioritizes visual communication and ease of managing product information across various product categories and variations. Therefore, the choice depends on whether a merchant needs to fundamentally change their sales strategy or simply improve their product listings' attractiveness.

Our Verdict
Rimix Product Badges & Labels is likely the better choice for most Shopify merchants. Its mature review base (22 reviews versus 1), suggests greater adoption and a proven track record. It addresses a fundamental need - improving product presentation - that benefits almost all online stores. The smart filters and customizability are also compelling.
Dropit Auctions is more niche. It's ideal for merchants selling unique, high-demand items who are struggling to determine optimal pricing or looking for a creative way to engage customers and generate excitement. However, the lack of substantial user feedback and reliance on an iframe may raise concerns for some merchants compared to the 'Built for Shopify' certification Rimix boasts.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Rimix is likely easier to set up due to its 'Built for Shopify' certification and focus on badge creation. Dropit Auctions, while claiming no development is needed, uses an iframe, which might require some familiarity with Shopify's page structure.
Which app offers better customer support?
Rimix explicitly mentions 'fast support via live chat and email', suggesting a more robust support system. Dropit Auctions does not mention customer support specifically in its description.
Which app is better for increasing sales?
Both apps aim to increase sales, but in different ways. Dropit Auctions does so by creating a sense of urgency and driving competitive bidding. Rimix increases sales by making products more visually appealing and informative, which can lead to higher conversion rates.
Which app is better for stores selling a wide variety of products?
Rimix Product Badges & Labels is likely better for stores with a wide variety of products due to its smart filters, variant-specific badges, and ability to schedule badge appearances. This allows for targeted messaging based on product categories, tags, or inventory levels.
Which app has a higher risk associated with it?
Dropit Auctions might have a slightly higher perceived risk due to the extremely low number of reviews. Merchants might be hesitant to adopt a relatively untested sales strategy like reverse auctions. Also iframes can sometimes present integration problems or theme compatibility issues.
