Our Verdict
For a French merchant needing to simplify the détaxe process, Détaxer avec SolPay is the clear choice. Its focus on automating bordereaux generation, direct Shopify integration, and instant QR code generation provides a streamlined solution. However, it does require contacting SolPay for partnership which can introduce a slight barrier to entry. PayProofy, while potentially useful, lacks any reviews and caters to a different need. If a merchant struggles with verifying bank transfers or wallet payments, it could be a helpful solution assuming it delivers on its promises. Due to the lack of reviews and focus, Détaxer avec SolPay is the stronger recommendation for merchants meeting its target criteria. PayProofy might be considered for merchants with very specific needs around manual payment processing, provided they are willing to take a chance on an unproven app.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, PayProofy appears to be easier to set up. It claims to be installable and configurable in minutes from the Shopify App Store. Détaxer avec SolPay requires contacting SolPay to become a partner, implying a more involved setup process.
Which app is better for merchants outside of France?
PayProofy is potentially useful for merchants outside of France if they need to streamline bank transfer verification. Détaxer avec SolPay is designed specifically for French merchants dealing with tax refunds for tourists, so it would not be suitable for merchants operating outside of France.
Does either app integrate with Shopify Checkout?
Neither app explicitly states integration with Shopify Checkout. PayProofy specifically states it does *not* work on the checkout and thank you pages. Détaxer avec SolPay focuses on post-sale bordereaux generation which implies it doesn't need checkout integration.
Which app has more positive user feedback?
Détaxer avec SolPay has a 5/5 rating based on 9 reviews, indicating positive user feedback. PayProofy has no reviews and a rating of 0/5, which means there's no feedback available to assess its quality.
Is there a free trial for either app?
Neither app explicitly mentions a free trial period in the provided information. Détaxer avec SolPay mentions joining SolPay 'gratuitement', implying a free initial setup or partnership, but not necessarily a trial period for the app's functionality.
