Détaxer avec SolPay vs TryOnify: Try Before You Buyfor Shopify (2026)
Détaxer avec SolPay and TryOnify: Try Before You Buy are both 5-star rated Shopify apps, but they cater to drastically different merchant needs. Détaxer avec SolPay focuses on simplifying tax-free shopping for merchants in France, automating the generation of 'bordereaux de détaxe' (tax refund forms) directly from Shopify sales. It targets businesses selling to international customers who are eligible for tax refunds. TryOnify, on the other hand, introduces a 'Try Now, Pay Later' payment model, deferring payments until after a customer's free trial. This is intended to reduce cart abandonment and encourage more frequent purchases. The core difference lies in their value proposition. SolPay streamlines tax compliance and aims to enhance the international customer experience, while TryOnify provides a novel payment option geared towards increasing sales and customer acquisition by offering a free trial period. SolPay requires merchants to contact them to become a partner, suggesting a selective onboarding process. TryOnify emphasizes quick and easy setup, suggesting broader accessibility. While both fall under the 'Payment options - Other' category, their functionalities are completely separate: tax compliance vs. flexible payment options.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants based in France looking to simplify the tax refund process for international customers, Détaxer avec SolPay is the clear choice, provided they meet the partnership requirements. However, for merchants globally facing high cart abandonment rates and wanting to offer a flexible payment option, TryOnify is the better option. It provides a 'Try Now, Pay Later' experience, potentially attracting new customers who are hesitant to purchase upfront. Consider that Détaxer avec SolPay directly impacts tax compliance, while TryOnify focuses solely on sales and marketing strategy.
