Duplify ‑ Duplicate Your Store vs Launchpadfor Shopify (2026)
Duplify ‑ Duplicate Your Store and Launchpad offer vastly different functionalities for Shopify merchants. Duplify focuses on store duplication, backup, and synchronization, catering to merchants needing staging environments, multi-store management, or robust data recovery options. Launchpad, on the other hand, targets Shopify Plus customers seeking to automate and schedule sales campaigns, product releases, and flash sales. While both fall under Operations and Workflow Automation categories, their core purposes and target audiences diverge significantly. Duplify emphasizes ease of use and data integrity through features like one-click duplication, scheduled syncing, and data backups. Its key strength lies in mitigating risk and enabling scalability. Launchpad prioritizes marketing and promotional efficiency by automating event checklists, streamlining customer experiences, and providing real-time performance tracking. However, its exclusive availability to Shopify Plus customers drastically limits its accessibility and usefulness compared to Duplify, which is available to all Shopify users.

Our Verdict
Duplify ‑ Duplicate Your Store is the superior choice for the vast majority of Shopify merchants, regardless of size or technical expertise, needing store duplication, backup, and data synchronization capabilities. Its high rating, numerous positive reviews, and inclusive accessibility make it a reliable and versatile solution.
Launchpad is only relevant for Shopify Plus customers heavily invested in orchestrating complex sales events. While its automation features are appealing, its limited accessibility and significantly lower rating render it a niche tool compared to the broad applicability and positive reception of Duplify.
Common Questions
Can I use both Duplify and Launchpad together?
Potentially, but their functions are distinct. Duplify would primarily be used for setting up development or staging stores, while Launchpad would be used within your live Shopify Plus store to automate sales campaigns. There might be some overlap in terms of product visibility management, but their core purposes don't directly conflict.
Is Duplify only for creating exact copies of my store?
No, Duplify allows you to choose what you want to export, providing flexibility in creating partial duplicates or backups with specific data subsets.
How does Launchpad help with customer experience?
Launchpad aims to create a smoother customer experience during sales events by automating product visibility, theme updates, and discounts, ensuring a consistent and well-managed promotional campaign.
What happens to my data if I stop using Duplify?
Duplify creates backups that you can retain independently. Even after discontinuing the app, you'll have the data necessary for restoration.
Is Launchpad better than other scheduling apps?
Launchpad's value hinges on its tight integration with Shopify Plus features like Shopify Scripts. Other scheduling apps may offer wider compatibility, but Launchpad may offer more granular control over Shopify-specific elements, but the 2/5 rating is concerning compared to other competitors with better reviews.
