Dynamic markup vs Singleton | Advanced Discountsfor Shopify (2026)
Dynamic Markup and Singleton | Advanced Discounts both aim to enhance pricing strategies for Shopify merchants, but they tackle the challenge from distinctly different angles. Dynamic Markup focuses on automated, inventory-aware price adjustments to maximize profits when demand is high. It's about optimizing existing customer interest by leveraging scarcity. Singleton, conversely, is a broader discount management tool designed to motivate customers to buy more through various discount structures, including volume discounts and targeted offers. Dynamic Markup appears positioned for merchants struggling with inventory management and underpricing during peak demand. It automates a process that might otherwise require manual intervention. Singleton | Advanced Discounts, with significantly more reviews, is geared towards merchants actively seeking to increase sales through strategic discounting. It offers greater flexibility in discount types and target audiences, enabling nuanced promotional campaigns. The key difference lies in the problem they solve: Dynamic Markup optimizes for profit during high demand, while Singleton incentivizes purchases through discounts.

Our Verdict
If you frequently find yourself underpricing products due to unexpected demand spikes and need a hands-off solution, Dynamic Markup is likely the better fit. Its focus on automated, inventory-driven price adjustments is unique and targeted. However, the low number of reviews should be considered.
For merchants actively planning sales promotions, offering tiered discounts, or targeting specific customer segments with exclusive deals, Singleton | Advanced Discounts provides a more comprehensive and flexible toolkit. Its higher review count also lends it more credibility. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your specific pricing and sales goals: reactive optimization (Dynamic Markup) versus proactive incentivization (Singleton).
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Both apps claim intuitive interfaces, however, Dynamic Markup focuses on a single automated process of price increases. Singleton | Advanced Discounts has more features for different types of discounts, rules, and customer segmentation, making the setup process potentially more involved. Consider the tradeoff between ease of use for a singular problem versus the flexibility of managing multiple discount strategies.
Which app is better for reducing abandoned carts?
Singleton | Advanced Discounts is more likely to help with abandoned carts because it allows you to create incentives such as discounts that will apply automatically or based on code for customers, visible in the cart page, all types of cart drawers, and checkout pages. Dynamic Markup only focuses on dynamic markups and doesn't directly prevent abandoned carts.
Can both apps be used simultaneously?
Using both apps simultaneously is possible, but requires careful consideration. Dynamic Markup would automatically increase prices based on inventory, while Singleton | Advanced Discounts could offer discounts. The combined effect needs to be strategically planned to avoid unintended consequences, like excessively high prices negating discount benefits.
Which app offers a free trial?
The provided data does not indicate whether either app offers a free trial. Checking the Shopify App Store listings for each app will confirm availability.
Which app is better for a store with a large catalog?
Singleton | Advanced Discounts might be better suited. Its ability to create discounts for 'selected products' becomes more valuable when managing a large inventory. Dynamic Markup, while applicable to the entire store, benefits from focused implementation on key products experiencing demand fluctuations.
